applications which covers all major hotel and catering groups including Shangri-La hotel group, Starwoods
Hotel Group, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hong Kong Disneyland etc. The founders have over thousand of installation experience with restaurant operation in the world.
The hospitality industry has been seeking mobile solution ever since 1990. The founder has experience using Infra-red technology to
make the very first hand terminal for the industry in early 90’s. With the advance of wireless communication, the second attempt was to use the
radio frequency ISM band 2.4Ghz for another hand terminal. Both attempts did not take off due to the proprietary design and battery quality! By 2006, 802.11.b/g Wi-Fi wireless communication becomes popular and was deployed massively with PDA and notebook. With matured wireless protocol, WideFly starts working with Group Sense (inventor of Instant-Dict
& specialist in making handheld devices) to produce a series of Wi-Fi based PDA to address the special needs of the industry.
The joint development arrangement allows both company’s talent to work together seamlessly. WideFly provides industry know-how while Group Sense takes on the manufacturing tasks. The end result is the first product called WF28 PDA based on 2.8” LCD. WideFly is the exclusive marketing arm in charge of world wide sales for all the related products produced through this joint-development arrangement.
With the launch of WF28, a new era of industry specific mobile PDA for hospitality industry begins.
